The golden monkey trekking tour in volcanoes np is one of the top adventures to do in Rwanda. the activity involves a relatively easy trek through the bamboo jungles in the lower zones of the Virunga volcanoes to find and spent an hour with the striking golden monkeys. Afterwards head to misty Bwindi. Which is a home to more than a half the population of the remaining 720 mountain gorillas. Day1; transfer to volcano national park

You will be met by our driver guide at Kigali and we proceed with the guided tour to the first-growing neighborhoods of Kigali that are changing the face of the city. There is opportunity to visit the presidential museum which is the residence of two of the former presidents of Rwanda, here you will have an opportunity to learn a bit about the political history of Rwanda we drive through the older commercial and residential areas with a major stop at Kigali genocide memorial site commemorating the 1994 Rwandan genocide. Stop for lunch then after drive to Musanze if time allows you will visit two twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo.their deep blue waters ringed by steep hills and tall water falls with the outlines of the nearby Virunga volcanoes provide a spectacular back drop overnight at.

Day2; golden monkey tracking and transfer to Bwindi

Wake-up for early breakfast and transfer to the park head offices, in kinigi by 7;00am. Join up with other golden monkey trekkers, meet the ranger guide for a few minutes talk about the activity and the park, and by 8;00am you transfer to the trail head just outside the park. Enjoy good views of the mountain, scenery as you start the trek in the park to find the golden monkeys .the golden monkeys live near the edge of the park in the bamboo forest where the ground is relatively flat and easy to trek find the monkeys and follow them as they feed, notice how they skillfully pick the young bamboo leaves from the tip of the bamboo trees .they may also move out of the park into the potato fields and how they love the potatoes. After an amazing one hour with the golden monkeys, you will return to the trail head drive back to the lodge for the lunch and after head to the boarder, after clearing we will proceed to Bwindi dinner and overnight at.

Day3; gorilla trekking and transfer to lake Bunyonyi

After an early morning breakfast walk to the park headquarters for briefing for dos and don’ts during gorilla tracking and their after you will proceed to the gorilla trails. Gorilla tracking normally last to 2-8hours or even a day to encounter the gorillas. however, you will be allowed to stay in the presence of the awesome apes for at list an hour. It’s advisable that you carry parked lunch will be provided as one can not determine how long it may take too encounter the mountain gorillas later transfer to lake Bunyonyi the drive will be through the beautiful part of the country often referred to as the Switzerland of Africa because of its unique cool weather despite being near the equator it’s the second deepest lake in Africa 900meteres deep and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered to be safe to swim as it bilharziasis free dinner and overnight will be at;

Day4; transfer to kibale forest national park and Bigodi swamp walk

You will, after breakfast ,head to kibale national park arriving in the early afternoon on the drive to kibale national park you will be able to enjoy an impressive sight of the legendry mountains of the moon which you will clearly see on the road to fort portal .you will have lunch in forte portal after you will head to kibale national park to visit the unique Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site where you will see uncommon plants and rare bird species such as the great blue turaco, little bulbul, Rwenzori turaco and the Narin trogon ,among others dinner and overnight

Day5; chimpanzee tracking and travel to Entebbe

You will, after breakfast, head to kibale forest to visit the primates. The activity begins at 8;00am with the rule for tracking chimpanzees after which you setoff to search them in the forest the exercise takes a half a day and long the day you will see other primates like grey, checked mangabey s, phoestes, red Columbus and the blue and red-tailed monkeys swinging in the branches of these thick forests. Your guide will give you informative briefings on the lifestyle of the primates. You will be coming across and, on the plants, as well as on the insects and butterflies in this forest to ensure that the trek is not only enjoyable but also informative as well. You will return to the lodge for lunch after which you will set off for Entebbe arriving late in the afternoon
